E.coli found in more than a quarter of household dishcloths

4th April 2012

A recent study by the food safety organisation Safefood has found that 27% of household dishcloths in Ireland contain E.coli.

The study was undertaken to warn consumers about the potential risks of poisoning from everyday kitchen habits.

It also found that just soaking dishcloths in water or bleach cannot be relied on to kill the bacteria.
